The Building Committee of the Brandon Community Advantage Center issues this Request for Qualifications for the Design and Construction of the proposed Community Center Phase One, to be constructed on the 4.26-acre site located at the corner of Watson and Watson roads in the Winthrop Community (at the southeast corner of Providence Road and Bloomingdale Avenue). The site was purchased by the BCAC on Oct. 17, 2008. An environmental site assessment and preliminary soil investigation, as well as boundary, topographic, tree and utility surveys have been performed (see attached). The site will be developed with the first phase consisting of an approximate 20,000- square-foot community activity building with related parking, to begin construction in first quarter 2009. The construction budget for the first phase is $ 3.5 million. Because time is of the essence, the BCAC building committee has issued an RFP to select and contract with a Civil Engineering firm that will become a member of the Design /Build team.
Your Qualification Package should include:
- Past Design/Build experience
- Proposed Design/Build team
- Resume of key personnel
- A sample of past, similar projects
- A contact list for recommendations
The Brandon Community Advantage Center Board promotes the participation of certified minority/small businesses and WMBE firms with respect to design and construction services for this project. Please include a statement of your policy regarding WMBE participation.
The BCAC building committee will review and discuss the Qualification Packages received and create a short list of firms. (Minimum of four and Maximum of five) The selected firms will receive a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Design/Build services for the Brandon Community Advantage Center.
Please submit your package (an original and four copies) no later than 2:00 p.m. December 1, 2008. Please send to the attention of:
